Join us for our Volunteer Fair and connect with local organizations to learn about volunteer opportunities in the community.

Organizations you can connect with at the fair include: Strathmore & area Adult Inclusive Learning (SAIL), Trellis, Wheatland and Area Hospice, True North, Royal Canadian Legion Strathmore, Wheatland FCSS (WFCSS),  Strathmore FCSS (SFCSS), Girl Guides, Strathmore Library, Bridging The Gap (BTG), First Strathmore Scouts, Wheatland Society of Arts, Calgary Catholic Immigration Society, and more!

Smile Cookie Campaign Support a great local cause through the Smile Cookie Campaign! Cookies can be purchased at any Tim Hortons location in Strathmore, with all funds staying in the community. Every cookie purchased goes directly towards community events, education, and supportive and inclusive programs. Celebrate Youth Week with a variety of events happening throughout the community. 

A week full of fun, creative, and active programs for youth ages 11–25!

Join us for:

  • May 1: Step Right Up! Teen Festival – games, treats, prizes (Library, 4–6 p.m.)
  • May 2: Ice Skating (Family Centre Arena, 3–4 p.m.)
  • May 3: Roller Skating (Strathmore Family Centre Arena, 3-4 p.m.)
  • May 4: Clay Hand Building Class (Wheatland Society of Arts, 6-8 p.m.)
  • May 5: Teen Drop-in Bingo (Trellis, 4–6 p.m.)
  • May 5: DISC: Youth Communication and Connection (Purposeful Youth Network - 239b 3rd Avenue, 4-6 p.m.)
  • May 5: Needle Felting Class (Wheatland Society of Arts, 4-7 p.m.)
  • May 6: Basketball Mini Games (Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.)
  • May 6: Teen Night- Connect, Unwind & Learn (Balance and Restore Co., Time TBD)
  • May 7: Youth Leadership Workshop (Purposeful Youth Network - 239b 3rd Avenue, 4:30-6 p.m.)
  • May 8: Youth Swim (Aquatic Centre, 7–9 p.m.),
  • May 8: Teen Painting (Wheatland Arts Society, 4–6 p.m.)

All programs are free, with some requiring registration. Activities include art, crafts, sports, leadership, and social events!

Red Dress Day A day of awareness and remembrance, honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people. Join us for a blessing, speeches, walk around Kinsmen Lake, dancers, and a free BBQ. May 5, 2026 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. All Tim Hortons locations in Strathmore
Moose Hide Campaign Join the Moose Hide Campaign to stand against violence and support reconciliation efforts. Programming to be announced soon. May 15, 2026 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Strathmore Library
Emergency Preparedness Day A fun and educational event featuring a bike safety course, fire extinguisher presentation, inflatable obstacle course, and a hot dog BBQ. May 30, 2026 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Kinsmen Park & Pavilion
