Hazardous Waste

Hazardous Waste in Alberta is regulated under the Province’s Hazardous & Special Products (HSP) Program. The Town is committed to collecting all items accepted through this program.

*Household batteries weighing up to 5kg are accepted and collected through Call2Recycle – Recycle Your Batteries, Canada. Other types of batteries can typically be returned to the retailer where they were purchased for recycling.
*Non-refillable fuel cylinders, up to 1lb are accepted. Larger and refillable propane cylinders are not accepted. Alternate disposal methods include local propane filling stations.

Never put propane tanks into any of your black or green carts. It is a safety hazard for your driver and staff at the processing facilities.
