  • Strathmore Fire Department Leads Fire Prevention Week Campaign

    STRATHMORE, ALBERTA | October 6, 2022 

    The Strathmore Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week (FPW), October 9-15, 2022. This year’s FPW campaign, “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape”,  educates with simple actions to keep our community safe from home fires.

    At last evening’s Council Meeting Council gave final reading to the Boards and Committees Bylaw and approved the reallocation of funds to purchase operations equipment.

  • National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2022

    Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

    The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

    At last evening’s Committee of the Whole Meeting Council received a presentation from Lynne Price, the CEO of the Marigold Library and reviewed the Traffic Control Bylaw.

  • Fire Advisory

    A Fire Advisory is in effect for the Town of Strathmore.

    This fire advisory is due to the unusually dry and warm conditions. A fire advisory is issued to inform residents about conditions which pose a moderate to high fire risk in the municipality.

  • Unclaimed Goods Auction

    Calling all bidders! Strathmore Municipal Enforcement/RCMP are hosting an unclaimed goods auction at Kinsmen Park during the September 10th Farm and Flea.  

    When Strathmore RCMP or Municipal Enforcement recover lost or stolen items, every effort is made to reunite the property to their owner. When this cannot be done, however, the items are placed into storage and then dispersed through a charity auction.

  • Dementia Friendly Event

    Town of Strathmore, Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will be implementing Dementia-Friendly Service Train-the-Trainer sessions to front line workers, service providers, and businesses to create dementia-friendly spaces and supports throughout Wheatland County. Additionally, a speaker series highlighting speakers from local service providers to share information on dementia along with supporting the local library in becoming dementia-friendly will be offered.

  • Heat Warning Ended, July 18, 2022

    STRATHMORE, ALBERTA | July 18, 2022 – The Town of Strathmore responded to the region’s heat alert by opening the doors to a free cooling station. The Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre was open with air conditioning and water fountains from 8:00am to 10:00pm from July 12 - July 18, 2022.
