Temporary Stage 3 Water Restrictions
Starting May 4, 2026, the Town of Strathmore will be taking the Wildflower Reservoir offline to complete electrical upgrades and finalize improvements to pumping, HVAC, and backup power systems. Stage 3 outdoor water restrictions are required and will be in place until the work is completed.
Residents are encouraged to start preparing for restrictions now by:
- Catching up on laundry
- Tackling any house cleaning you may still have
- Washing your car

This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The Canadian Constitution recognizes these three groups as Aboriginal peoples, also known as Indigenous peoples.
STRATHMORE, ALBERTA | June 9, 2023 – During the June 7, 2023 regular Meeting of Council, Strathmore Town Council unanimously moved to begin the acquisition process of a new water license, a move that reflects their proactive stance on environmental stewardship and the responsible management of vital resources. The water license is valued at $650,00 and will be funded through the Capital Reserve – Water. This investment further highlights Strathmore’s commitment to ensuring a reliable and abundant water supply for residents, both present and future.

At last evening’s Council meeting Council reviewed the 2022 Financial Audit and approved a public art mural.
STRATHMORE, ALBERTA | June 8, 2023 – The Town of Strathmore has approved a Memorandum of Agreement with Rocky View County and Wheatland County for the continued funding of the RCMP Watch Clerk Program.
The funding agreement will cover the costs for three Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) watch clerk positions for a term of three years. Under the agreement, each partner municipality will share the costs equally.

Strathmore, Alberta - September 20, 2023 - On September 15, the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) requested assistance with the firefighting efforts in Hay River, NWT. The Strathmore Fire Department has responded by deploying a type 6 Engine (Bush Truck) and 3 personnel.
Strathmore, Alberta - June 2, 2023 - Strathmore’s deployed fire crews and equipment returned this past weekend from assisting with the wildfires burning in east-central Alberta. They were just in time to swap out with fresh equipment and personnel who are traveling to Fort Chipewyn to assist with an out-of-control wildfire in the area.

At least evening’s Council Meeting, Council scheduled a Public Hearing for a Land Use Amendment regarding affordable housing development and they passed the 2023 Property Tax Bylaw.
