At last evening’s Council Meeting Council held a public hearing for the East Pine Road closure and received and update from Alberta Health Services regarding Strathmore’s ambulance service.

WHEREAS Seniors’ Week has been recognized since 1986 to celebrate and recognize the contributions seniors make to enhance the quality of life in Alberta; and

WHEREAS Hospice Palliative Care aims to relieve suffering and improve the quality of living and dying for persons with terminal illness facing end of life; and

At least evening’s Council meeting, Council received a detailed presentation from the Wheatland Housing Management Body and reviewed an update regarding waste removal and management services.

March 20 is Strathmore Day!
In 1905 the Hamlet of Strathmore moved from its original location at Eagle Lake, 4 miles North to be near the developing irrigation system. The Hamlet of Strathmore attracted settlers quickly and on March 20, 1908, it was incorporated as the Village of Strathmore.

At last evening’s Council meeting, Council gave final reading to the Land Use Amending Bylaw 23-02 - regarding variance requests, and renewed the lease agreement with the Vault Cultural Collective.

At last evening’s Council Meeting, Council scheduled public hearings regarding amendments to the Land Use Bylaw and gave third reading to the Fees Bylaw, allowing for ceremonial events to take place in Council Chambers.
