Closed Meeting

Following the Closed Meeting Council appointed Izar Khan to the Strathmore Municipal Library Board for a term of three (3) years, ending October 31, 2027.

Claude Brown thanked Council for revisiting the matter of Garden and Garage Suites.

Inflation is driving up costs, oil and gas revenues are projected to decline, and looming U.S. tariffs continue to threaten economic stability. Strathmore residents are adjusting, stretching their budgets further, and making careful decisions about where every dollar goes.

Whether it’s our resilience through tough times, our commitment to one another or our shared belief that hard work creates opportunity, we are reminded of what makes Canada a special place. Property Values & Your Taxes – It’s Complicated (But We’ll Explain)
Did you know that rising property assessments don’t automatically mean higher taxes?

That’s because municipal budgets are set separately from assessments. Whether property values go up or down, the Town doesn’t collect extra revenue—it only collects what’s needed to fund services.
