STRATHMORE, ALBERTA – April 25, 2025 – The Town of Strathmore is once again proud to partner with Tim Hortons for the annual Smile Cookie Week, taking place April 28 to May 4, 2025. This community tradition has raised over $116,000 for Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) since 2017—and this year, the bar is set higher than ever.

April 15, 2025 – Strathmore, AB – Property owners in Strathmore will see a significant increase in their property tax bills this year due to a sharp rise in the provincial education property tax requisition, announced in Alberta’s 2025 budget.

The budget, released by Finance Minister Nate Horner on February 27, increases Strathmore’s total school tax requisition by 22 per cent, from $5,953,657 million in 2024 to $7,251,997 million in 2025. The unexpected jump places additional financial strain on both residential and commercial property owners in the community.
