Scope

Update

The biannual inspection of the road, pedestrian, and WID canal bridges identified two structures requiring repairs. Completing these repairs will extend the service life of the bridges crossing the WID canal on Westridge Road and West Pine Road.

$60,000 capital budget approved on November 25, 2025

 Scope

Update

The Town’s Central Trunk Sewer currently serves about 80% of the Town, including new development in the North and West, and is nearing capacity. Upgrading it in advance will prevent servicing constraints from delaying or limiting future development opportunities.

$3,965,000 capital budget approved on November 25, 2025.

Update

Strathmore’s water is supplied via the City of Calgary and is transported to the town using the Strathmore owned East Calgary Regional Waterline (ECRWL).

A condition assessment will identify deterioration, prioritize replacement and maintenance, prevent costly breaks and emergency repairs, extend the assets life, and protect water quality.

$150,000 operational budget was approved on November 25, 2025.

 Scope

Update

An annual program dedicated to maintaining and improving the Town’s sidewalk infrastructure. Final locations will be determined upon completion of the sidewalk assessments and tender process.

Due to regulatory and work standards beyond the Town’s control, 2025 locations will be completed in coordination with the 2026 priority locations.

Water is essential for life, and installing a recirculation system demonstrates the Town's commitment to environmental responsibility and leadership in water conservation. The installation will occur in 2026.

$300,000 capital budget approved in 2025.

The Strathmore Lions Club received a $125,000 grant, through Alberta's Community Facility Enhancement Program, to support the update.

Annual projects focused on maintaining and upgrading the Town’s water and wastewater infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient service delivery.

Update

As the lifecycle of Brentwood Reservoir comes to an end, upgrades to the Wildflower Reservoir and watermains along Centennial Drive and Maplewood Drive are required in order to decommission Brentwood Reservoir without having an impact on services.

Maplewood Drive construction is complete. Next steps include the Wildflower Reservoir upgrade.

Repaving of Westlake Road from Westchester Road to Wheatland Trail. 

The public will see lane closures once construction starts.

A Capital Project Priority Matrix is a tool used to guide decision-making and ensure project success. This Matrix helps determine project scope, time, budget and other details. 

The Town of Strathmore's Capital Projects Prioritization Matrix assists with asset management. It is used to determine which capital projects could proceed and when. There are different categories and factors with weightings to create a priority ranking system for projects.
