In 2017, the Town of Strathmore updated its Master Servicing Study for Sanitary System Upgrades to assess the impact of the Town’s overall growth pattern and future projections regarding development and new infrastructure. The study identified inadequate sanitary sewer capacity in certain Town areas, including the area serviced by the Main Central Trunk. In 2022, a detailed design for the new Central Trunk was completed by MPE, a division of Englobe. The first portion of the new alignment was completed in 2022 at the Strathpoint commercial site north of Highway #1.
2026, installation of the new upgraded sewer main will be constructed across Highway #1 at Strathpoint and will run south through the commercial/industrial sites to just south of the UFA.
Construction tender is scheduled to be posted in and around March 1, 2026. It is anticipated that the successful contractor will begin construction the beginning of May, with a completion date of October 31, 2026.
