Managing Town Finances

Alberta's Municipal Government Act outlines a framework for Council and Administrations for managing the finances of a municipality. The Financial Services team provides this service for the Town of Strathmore.

Specific requirements regarding budgets, borrowing, investing, corporate planning and financial reporting must be followed as outlined in the Act. This includes the preparation of audited financial statements and remitting of various reports outlining a municipality's financial status on a quarterly or annual basis. 

The Financial Services team works alongside senior leadership, all departments and Town Council to advise and lend expertise to ensure the Town's finances are managed responsibly and as envisioned in the Town's Strategic Plan.
