Online Reporting

Online Crime Reporting (OCR) and Online Motor Vehicle Collision Reporting is now available with the RCMP. Online reporting offers an alternative and convenient way for people to report non-emergent crime or certain types of collisions without having to call the police or visit the detachment.

Online Crime Reporting

To report online, download the Alberta RCMP app through Apple or Google Play or visit our Online Crime Reporting tool.

You can file an online report if:
  • You have lost something that costs less than $5,000
  • Someone has stolen something from you that costs less than $5,000
  • Someone has vandalized your property or vehicle and it will cost less than $5,000 to repair
  • The crime happened within the jurisdiction of the RCMP
You cannot file an online report if:
  • There is a witness or suspect
  • There are lost or stolen items involving personal identity, firearms, license plates or decals

Online Motor Vehicle Collision Reporting

An online service that allows Albertans to report certain types of collisions online and an alternative to other in-person collision reporting options.

  • Single-vehicle collisions
    • Example: Your vehicle hit an animal, hit an object, or ran off the road.
  • Two-vehicle collisions (two drivers only)
    • Example: Rear-end, backing / back-up, sideswipe (same or opposite direction), right angle (T-bone), head-on, or any other type of two-vehicle collisions.
    • Two-vehicle collision reporting is only available in Calgary at this time.
  • Parked vehicle hit and run collisions
    • Where no witness information or any supporting evidence is available.

Note: All other types of collisions will require in-person reporting at your local law enforcement agency.
