Stomping Down Barriers - Mental Health Run 2026

Residents and visitors are invited to take part in the Stomping Down Barriers for Mental Health Run on August 9, 2026, a high-energy community event dedicated to raising awareness and support for mental health.

Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to get involved by running, walking, or cheering along the route. The event offers a variety of options, including a 1K Kids Fun Run, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and virtual participation opportunities, ensuring there is something for everyone in the community.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Strathmore’s parks and canal pathways, the run combines physical activity with a vibrant atmosphere featuring colour, music, and strong community spirit throughout the course.

“This event is about more than just running, it’s about coming together as a community to support mental health and break down the barriers that prevent people from seeking help,” says Lisa Montgomery, Manager, Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre. “Whether someone is participating on the course or cheering from the sidelines, every person plays a role in creating a more supportive and connected community.”

The Stomping Down Barriers for Mental Health Run aims to foster meaningful conversations around mental health while encouraging inclusivity, wellness, and community engagement.
