Shop Local. Love Local.The Town of Strathmore Launches Campaign to Support Local Businesses

STRATHMORE, ALBERTA – July 2, 2025 – The Town of Strathmore has launched its Shop Local. Love Local. campaign, encouraging residents to support local businesses and help strengthen our local economy.

Whether it’s grabbing a coffee, getting a haircut, or picking up a few groceries, every dollar spent locally helps build a stronger, more connected Strathmore.

“There’s a lot we can’t control in the world right now,” said Mayor Pat Fule. “But we can control where we spend our money. Those everyday small choices actually make a big difference.”

The updated campaign builds on the success of the Even More Strathmore initiative, first launched in 2020 to remind residents of the power of local support. This year’s campaign brings new energy to that message, encouraging all residents to get involved.

“These local branches, stores, franchises, and organizations employ our friends and neighbours. They remember your name, order your favourite product, and go the extra mile because they’re part of this community too,” said Angela Groeneveld, Senior Manager of Economic Stability & Investment. “Shopping local shows that Strathmore’s a great place to do business. Supporting the people that already believe in our community sends a strong message that Strathmore is worth investing in.”

The Town’s Economic Development and Communications teams will be rolling out a series of social media posts, out of home ads, pop-up installations, and more throughout the summer and fall. In addition, the Town is distributing free Shop Local. Love Local. window decals at the Strathmore Municipal Building for businesses interested in displaying on-site.

So, whenever you can, shop local. It might sound cliché, but it really matters.
