Council Meeting Highlights, September 9, 2023

In attendance: Mayor Fule, Deputy Mayor Wegener, Councillor Langmaid, Councillor Mitzner, Councillor Montgomery,  Councillor Peterson, Councillor Wiley

• Several items were accepted as part of the Consent Agenda including correspondence from residents and local organizations, the Wheatland Housing Management Body board minutes, and a budget amendment concerning the Aquatic Centre roof replacement.
• Council approved the installation of a "pride crosswalk" at the North entrance to the Strathmore Municipal Building parking lot on Parklane Drive. 
• Council discussed the Rural Renewal Stream and deferred a report on this matter to a later meeting.
• Council awarded the Town of Strathmore’s waste services contract to Blue Planet Recycling. Read more here. 
• Council appointed two people to the Culture and Wellbeing Task Force for a two-year term.
• Administration was directed to draft an amendment to the Council Procedural Bylaw regarding guidelines for rescinding resolutions.
