Council Meeting Highlights, February 1, 2023

In attendance: Mayor Fule, Councillor Peterson, Councillor Mitzner, Councillor Montgomery, Councillor Wegener, Councillor Wiley

• A representative from the Kiwanis service club gave a presentation to Council.  Kiwanis aims to tackle community concerns such as food insecurity and mental illness through the delivery of targeted programming.
• Council awarded the 2023 – 2028 Property Assessment Services contract to Wild Rose Assessment Services.
• Council gave first reading to the Land Use Amending Bylaw #23-02 and scheduled a public hearing for March 1, 2023 at 6:00pm. The amendment would remove the requirement that variances over 25% be referred to Council for decision will reduce red tape for developers and builders.
• Councillor Peterson invited other members of Council and the community to attend the Project Hope Gala and encouraged donations to the silent auction.
