Committee of the Whole Highlights, December 14, 2022

In attendance: Mayor Fule, Deputy Mayor Peterson, Councillor Langmaid, Councillor Mitzner, Councillor Montgomery, Councillor Wegener, Councillor Wiley

At last evening's Committee of the Whole Meeting Council received the Q2 RCMP Policing Report, the Sea Can Open House result report and reviewed the Asset Management Policy.

  • During a Special Council Meeting Council approved funding for organizations through the Community Improvement Program.
  • RCMP Staff Sergeant Wielgosz presented the Quarter 2 Municipal Policing Report. Programs in this quarter included Habitual Offender Management, the Persons of Interest Program, the Security Screw Program and the Strathmore Theft Prevention Program.
  • Administration presented a report containing the results from the Sea Can Open House. The results will help guide proposed amendments to the Land Use Amendment Bylaw.
  • Council reviewed the draft Asset Management Policy.
  • Council asked Administration if Santa Claus had the all-clear to bring his reindeer into Strathmore on Christmas Eve. The CAO ensured Council that all of the necessary permission are in place.
