Position Summary:

Reporting to the Aquatic Centre Customer Service Lead, this position will play an integral role in handling and accounting for money, filing, communicating by telephone, dealing effectively and professionally with the public to assist in the safe operation of the Town of Strathmore Aquatic Centre.

The Customer Service Representative will work with the Aquatic Centre team to study and keep informed in the field of aquatics in order to provide information to patrons. This position is also responsible for general cleaning in the front lobby and other areas as needed in the facility.

It is our goal to provide exceptional aquatic programs and services in a safe environment to enhance the quality of life with the hopes to inspire personal growth in all areas of aquatics.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate and efficient usage of a computerized system
  • Accurately maintain all cash, debit and credit card payments and to balance at the end of shift
  • Answer the telephone, directing calls to the appropriate personal and provide information to the public regarding rates / fees, events, schedules, and programs held at the aquatic facility
  • Responsible for the appearance and general cleaning duties of the front lobby and throughout the facility when needed
  • Prepare documents, posters and or other administrative paperwork
  • Sell aquatic merchandise and understand the product
  • May be required to work weeknights, weekends with the possibility of various other shifts to meet operational requirements
  • Practice and encourage safe and professional work behaviors
  • This is a safety sensitive position

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge of MS Office
  • Current Standard First Aid Certificate (within 3 years)
  • Current CPR C / AED Certificate (within 1 year)

Our Interview questions are intended to assess the following behaviours:

  • A self starter with the ability to work independently and as a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines
  • Ability to learn and perform intermediate first aid procedures
  • Ability to prevent dangerous situations, recognizing the signs of emergencies and take appropriate action
