Mayor George Lattery
George was born and raised in Drumheller and is married, with four children and four grandchildren. He moved to Calgary at the age of 20 and worked for Canadian Western Natural Gas for eight years until he was accepted with the Calgary Fire Department where he rose to the positions of Captain and Acting District Chief before retiring in 2003 after 32 years of service. He has co-owned and operated a roofing business for the last thirty years. George and his wife Sandra moved to Strathmore in 2004. His vision for Strathmore is to be proud, feel safe, and embrace economic growth. He feels we have a wonderful community and wants the citizens to be stakeholders in the community and become involved.
Mayor Lattery currently represents the Town of Strathmore on the Calgary Regional Partnership, the Sustainability Committee and Financial Audit Committee.

Councillor Mike Lloyd
Mike was elected to his first term on October 15th, 2007. He is married to Trina and has two sons. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Operations and has successfully owned and operated a business in Strathmore for many years. He enjoys being active in the community and says through education and life experience he has learned he should never complain, never make excuses and always take responsibility. He also believes building a positive relationship is key to beneficial results.
Personally he has served on many boards and groups in the community and now represents the Town of Strathmore on the Family Centre Advisory Committee, Strathmore and District Chamber of Commerce, the Calgary Regional Partnership, the Financial Audit committee and the Quality of Life Master Plan Committee.

Councillor Bob Sobol
Bob is married with three adult children. He retired from the RCMP after having served 29 years around the province of Alberta. He and his wife Gina moved to Strathmore four years ago and was the original (and former) owner of the Boulevard Cafe. He is currently a part-time civilian employee with the RCMP in the area of recruiting (Calgary). Bob ran for Council as he feels there are many important issues facing the Town, of which many deal with the growth of the Town. He has been involved in the community with many groups and now represents the Town on the Citizens on Patrol Committee (COP), the Strathmore Wheatland Addictions Team (SWAT) , The Strathmore Municipal Library Board and the Calgary Regional Partnership.

Councillor Brad Walls
Brad was born and raised in the Strathmore area. He and Chantel have a 1-year-old daughter. Councillor Walls is currently working in the insurance industry. Being raised in Strathmore he would like to continue to contribute to make Strathmore a safe, caring and proactive community. He feels the Town will continue to grow and thrive with new ideas coupled with the experience of the past.
Councillor Walls has been very active in the community and now represents the Town of Strathmore on the WFCSS Board, WADEMSA Board, Strathmore and District Agricultural Society, the Financial Audit Committee, the United Way Committee, and the Quality of Life Master Plan committee.

Councillor Earl Best
Earl is married to wife Colleen and has five children and six grandchildren. He is currently employed at the Strathmore Walmart as the Sporting Goods Manager. This is Councillor Best's second term on Council. His personal philosophies are to be accessible, accountable, informed and to stand up for the things you believe in. He believes in being prepared, fiscally responsible, making tough decisions and respecting the opinions of others.
In the past, Earl served on many Committees and Boards individually and as a Council representative for the Town of Strathmore. Currently, Councillor Best represents the Town on the Happy Gang, Community Futures Wild Rose, the Wheatland Housing Board and the Names Advisory Committee.

Councillor John Rempel
John and his wife Betty have lived in Strathmore for 25 years where they raised two children. After 23 years he sold his business and is now semi retired. This is Councillor Rempel's second time on Council. He previously served from 1990-1997. John believes in openness and honesty.
Councillor Rempel has participated in many boards, committees and service clubs in the community over the years both personally and as a Town representative while previously on Council. He now sits on the Names Advisory Committee.

Councillor Lois Wegener
Lois was born and raised in Strathmore, raised her two children here and has one grandchild. This is Councillor Wegener's third term on Council and she wants to make a difference and see previously started projects completed. She wants to make Strathmore a safe place to live and is committed to the people in the community.
Councillor Wegener has been very active on committees both personally and as a representative for the Town of Strathmore. Her current Council committees include the WADEMSA Board, WFCSS Board, Wheatland Housing, Strathmore Handi-Bus Association, the Communities in Bloom Committee, Waters of Wheatland Committee, the Bow River Basin Council, the Relay for Life Committee, and is an alternate on the United Way Committee |
